China Earthquake Networks Center officially measured that at 07:49 on January 30, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in Shaya County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang (40.01 degrees north latitude, 82.29 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 50 kilometers.
It is understood that the epicenter of the earthquake is located in the unmanned area, but the surrounding cities and counties are strongly affected by the earthquake. The epicenter was 105 kilometers from Alar City, 141 kilometers from Shaya County, 215 kilometers from Aksu City, and 611 kilometers from Urumqi City.
Since this year, there have been 33 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or more in Xinjiang, including 30 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 to 3.9, 2 earthquakes of magnitude 4.0 to 4.9, 0 earthquakes of magnitude 5.0 to 5.9, 1 earthquake of magnitude 6.0 to 6.9, and 0 earthquakes of magnitude 7.0 or more.
