According to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China is about to completely eliminate the restrictions on the settlement of urban residents in cities with a permanent population of less than 3 million, while comprehensively relaxing the restrictions on the settlement of urban residents in Type I big cities with a permanent population of 3 million to 5 million, and encourage mega cities with a permanent population of more than 5 million to cancel the annual quota of settlement. So which cities are likely to usher in a new wave of settlement?
With the implementation of the policy documents, the restrictions on the settlement of cities including Guiyang, Nanchang, Lanzhou, Hohhot, Haikou, Yinchuan, Xining, Lhasa and other provincial capitals are expected to be fully lifted.
With the gradual improvement of the policy, the settlement conditions of Harbin, Changchun, Kunming, Hefei, Taiyuan, Changsha, Nanning, Urumqi, Shijiazhuang, Fuzhou and other big cities are expected to be fully released.
With the gradual implementation of the policy, the quota limit for settling in Wuhan, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Zhengzhou, Xi'an, Jinan, Shenyang and other big cities is expected to be lifted.
Megacities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing and Tianjin are not expected to have much change in policies.
